Master Degree Project

                A research project entitled “The value alteration of Thai craftsmanship” was initiated from observation of the disappearance of local folk crafts.

The folk crafts are the knowledge of wisdom and skills to manage materials that are found in that locality created by the craftsmanship of the villagers that have religious beliefs, aesthetics of beauty and valuable that reflect the way of life. Until it influenced the development of the Western industry into Thailand. It is the development of mass production technology by using machines in industrial instead of human labor, resulting in quick and easy output. The consumption of products exceeds the utility and necessity for living. Which is an important part of the alteration of spiritual cultural into commercial products that affect to changing form and folk crafts to be reduced in society until the change in value and form completely.

Research outcomes are three pieces of artworks including 1. The Diary of craftsmen 2. Incidence and Dissolution 3. Welcome.
